You will be working with the largest country health system in Australia and one of the biggest in the world, providing health services to approximately half a million people, including 45,000 Aboriginal people, over a vast two and a half million square kilometre area. The organisation comprises seven regions, with a strong network of public hospitals, health services and health centres located across rural and remote Western Australia. Our core business is the provision of quality, accessible health services to country WA residents and visitors.
This hospital opened in May 2013; the biggest regional public health building project in WA to date. The Emergency Medicine Department has 2 resus bays, 8 acute cubicles, 4 fast track cubicles as well as integrated work management and pathology/radiology systems.
We are looking for an enthusiastic Emergency Medicine Trainee who wants to combine a great mix of rural and regional medicine with one of WA’s best kept secrets in terms of location and lifestyle.
Located on the South Coast of Western Australia, you will be working in a coastal town of 30,000 people with all the amenities of a small city with great restaurants, a state-of-the-art Entertainment Centre and stunning surrounds, with some of the best beaches in Australia close by.
80 hour fortnight (including on-call, weekends)
10 hour shifts (day & afternoon), no night shifts
The roster includes FACEM cover so there is excellent supervision and apprentice-style learning for Emergency Medicine Registrars.
The Emergency Department is accredited for 12 months of Emergency Medicine Training with ACEM
The hospital is situated 420kms from Perth with good air links.
Base salary from $109,678 - $150,479
Plus professional development leave and shift and other allowances
