The hospital is a 300-bed public hospital that treats over 24,000 inpatients and over 225,000 outpatients every year. The hospital aims to provide a sustainable, high quality and safe health system. The Job 

• Work as a Palliative Care Consultant and provide the highest possible standard of specialist palliative care medical services, consultancy and advice to clients and families.

• You will facilitate the development and delivery of best practice specialist palliative care medical services in Tasmania.

• Consultants are responsible for the provision of teaching in palliative care for undergraduate and postgraduate students, general practitioners and primary and specialist health professionals.

• You will promote and participate in palliative care research to improve evidence-based practice.

• You will work collaboratively with primary and specialist health service providers across the range of settings for effective continuity of care.

• You are expected to actively pursue improved outcomes by participating in postgraduate teaching, clinical audits and evaluation.

• Base salary from $229, 337 - $242,079 per annum

Requirements  

• Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of AustraliaFellowship of the Australasian Chapter of Palliative Medicine (FAChPM) or equivalent
