You will be working at the main public referral hospital in this region, that provides quality care for a catchment of approximately 250,000 people. The health services offers a comprehensive range of specialist care, including acute and sub-acute care, residential aged care, community care, psychiatric services, dental services and rehabilitation services.
The Mental Health service provides a range of community and bed-based mental health services for children and young people (0 - 18 years), adults (16 - 64 years), and older persons (over the age of 65) affected by serious complex mental illness.
As a Senior Psychiatry Registrar, you will work to assist Senior Medical Staff in the care of patients within the service.
This may include daily review of inpatients, participation in wards rounds and coordination of discharge planning on wards, regular review of patients in community mental health clinics or consultation assessments within the general hospitals, Emergency Departments or in the community with an integrated
community care model (including acute, short- term and longer term intensive or ongoing care models).
The position involves both in hours and regular on call out of hours duties.
In addition you will provide teaching and supervision to medical students and medical officers.
Attend training/educational activities as part of the RANZCP training program and actively pursue academic development.
Participate in and encourage research projects and the evaluation of service provision
Remuneration in line with the Victorian Public Health Sector (AMA Victoria) – Doctors in Training Enterprise Agreement 2018-2021

Satisfactorily completed Stage 2 RANZCP training for local trainees or be eligible for the Specialist or SST Pathway with RANZCP for Specialist IMGs
Registered or eligible for General registration as a medical practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner’s Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or eligibility for the Competent Authority pathway
