The Organisation
You will be working in a private hospital that provides a range of acute and medical healthcare services including orthopaedics, cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, general surgery, neurosurgery, plastic surgery, vascular surgery, urology and geriatric medicine.
The Hospital recently completed a major expansion and development plan that delivered three additional state-of-the-art operating theatres, including a hybrid theatre for complex cardiac, vascular and neurosurgery; a 22-bed intensive care unit; and a 18-bed coronary care unit, bringing the total capacity to 148 beds. In addition, 10 medical consulting suites have been built including a private suite for radiology and a range of acute care services. In addition to the development a recent refurbishment of the original Medical Ward has also been undertaken.
The Job
The Resident Medical Officer provides medical support primarily to the medical, rehabilitation, Chemotherapy surgical and day procedure areas. However during emergency situations maybe called upon to assist other units of the hospital, prioritizing requests on clinical acuity. This may be self initiated or at the request of Medical Specialist (VMO), Nurse Unit Managers, After Hours Manager, Nursing executive or nursing staff.
You will be working within a team of Ward RMO’s covering day and night shifts
Ward RMOs predominately cover medical, surgical and CCU.
You will review inpatients pre and post operatively at the request of the Accredited VMO during business hours
The RMO is required to participate in clinical teaching opportunities

Requirements
General Registration with the Medical Board of Australia essential
Excellent communication skills
PGY 3+
Recent experience in an Australian hospital highly desirable
