The Organisation

This health service serves a population of approximately 219,000 residents and provides a range of specialty services including acute care, surgical, medical, maternity, mental health rehabilitation and aged care services. 

Since its establishment on the current site in 1914, this hospital has grown into a major medical centre, providing high quality care within an environment of continuous improvement. Services currently available at the hospital include intensive care, coronary care, obstetrics, gynaecology, paediatrics, orthopaedic surgery, general surgery, vascular surgery, 24-hour emergency medicine, pharmacy, medical imaging, pathology and comprehensive mental health services. 

The Job 

• Work as a Paediatrics Registrar and provide clinical services to the clinical unit, conduct daily ward rounds of all inpatients, and attend clinics and emergency cases as required.

• You will provide legible, concise, accurate and signed clinical notes, summaries and participate in discharge planning.

• Registrars will supervise and support medical students/interns/JHOs/SHOs attached to the clinical unit, including participation in the assessment process when requested. 

• You will participate in ongoing training facilities when and if necessary, continuing medical education activities, and teaching of medical students/interns/JHOs/SHOs in the clinical unit.

• You will participate in after hour’s shifts as rostered, including night shifts.

• Permanent full time, day work (with on call) working 76 hours per fortnight. 

• Multiple positions available, to start ASAP.

Rewards

• Salary between $163,005 - $228,206 p.a.

• Access to salary package and a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible. 

• Allowance in lieu of private practice of 35%

• Recruitment and Retention allowance of 25%

• Professional Development Allowance of up to $24,927 p.a.

Requirements  

• Current registration as a medical practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner’s Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or eligibility for registration via the competent authority pathway
