This university teaching hospital has 343 beds and provides a broad range of services in all specialty areas to the local urban population as well as serving as a referral centre to the whole Top End of the Northern Territory (NT). The population serviced by the hospital is approximately 140,000.
The hospital is accredited by the Northern Territory Postgraduate Medical Council on behalf of the Medical Board of the Northern Territory for intern and junior medical officer training, and has an active clinical training program for pre-vocational trainees and registrars.
The hospital has a strong commitment to work with all medical staff on their career pathways with an aim to provide appropriate clinical terms and experiences to achieve their chosen vocational training.
As Orthopaedics Registrar, you will be responsible for the day to day management of public inpatients within the Orthopaedic Surgery department
You will work as part of the orthopaedic team providing a timely and high quality orthopaedic service to the local population
You will provide care and advice on the management of Orthopaedic patients, including elective and emergency theatre cases, admission and discharge of patients under the supervision of the Orthopaedic Specialists and Fellow
Participate in the twenty-four hour on-call roster as required
Participate in research, educational and professional development, quality assurance activities, peer review practices and continuing Medical Education
You will also participate in audit, risk management activities and research
Salary $105,980 - $132,792
