You will be working in a fast growing regional area providing cancer care services to a population of approximately 214,000 residents.
Across the Health Service, a range of specialty services are provided including acute care, surgical, medical, maternity, mental health rehabilitation and aged care services.
The region is well known for its relaxed lifestyle, natural beauty and local attractions, covering a unique and unspoilt landscape including rainforests with abundant fresh water lakes and crystal clear creeks.
You will provide expert Medical Oncology care and advice to patients (outpatient and in-patient)
Provide professional leadership in the area of medical oncology within a multidisciplinary environment.
Provide training, education and supervision to junior medical staff and other health care team members.
Provide day-to-day supervision and training to registrars, junior medical staff and other health care team members, including supervision of procedural work
Participate in relevant multidisciplinary meetings,
Work cooperatively with the Clinical Director and General Manager Division of Medicine to achieve out-patient wait list targets and to manage in-patient length of stay
Participate in research and trials, as appropriate
Participate in the hospital’s clinical governance, quality and safety processes, including root cause analyses where appropriate
Participate in the continuing professional development of self and others, including an annual performance appraisal

Specialist qualifications in Medical Oncology, such as Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or equivalent
Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia
