This regional Aboriginal Medical Service requires a locum General Practitioner who is passionate about providing Indigenous healthcare.

The Organisation
This organisation was established in 1997 and is governed by an all-Aboriginal Board of Directors. Whilst the organisation was originally established to reduce and combat family violence in the community, time has seen the needs of the Aboriginal community change and the focus of the organisation today is on providing primary health care and welfare services.
This non-profit Aboriginal Corporation is funded by the State and Federal Government. They are committed to providing a range of health, education and family support programs to both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people. Their dedicated team of health practitioners have the skills and resources to manage all of your health needs.
The Job
- Locum General Practitioner - Aboriginal Medical Service
- Dates: ASAP - December 16, 2022
- Hours: 9am - 5pm with a 30min lunch break
- On-call / After Hours: Nil
- Support Staff: Fully supported by a team of RN’s
- Software: Best Practice
Rewards & Location
- Rate: $1,500 per day for a VR GP, $1,200 per day for a Non VR GP
- Provisions: Flights, accommodation and weekend car use
- Population: 8,432 people live in Forbes. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people make up 12.1% of the population.
- Things to do: Relax alongside gorgeous river banks or in leafy parks. Or pay a visit to the country sculpture trail, inspired by Bondi Beach's famous Sculpture By The Sea festival.
- How to get there: This clinic is a 5hr drive from Sydney and 7hrs from Melbourne. Trains depart Sydney for Orange, with a connecting bus. Or fly into Parkes via Sydney and rent a car for the 25min drive.
Requirements
- You will have current registration with AHPRA
- You will hold FRACGP or FACRRM
- Non-VR GPs will be considered
- You will have access to a Medicare Provider number
