The Organisation

This hospital is a 21 bed complex and is located with a seven bed private hospital committed to providing clinical services with the highest possible standard. This hospital offers a range of high quality services including Medical and surgical services, Community Health services, Chemotherapy, Aboriginal Health, Maternity and Obstetrics, and Primary Health Care services. Their main focus is on strengthening primary health care, enhancing hospital care, reforming mental health care, and total improvement of all people in the community. 
 

The hospital has a 24-hour Emergency service with a dedicated Emergency Doctor supported by a nursing team. The hospital is looking for a General Practitioner in Emergency Medicine to expand their team and aim to deliver a comprehensive and sustainable healthy system and ensure healthier, longer and better life for all patients. 

The Job 

• Work as a General Practitioner in Emergency Medicine alongside a team of experienced and supportive professionals

• You will be responsible for the overall smooth day-to-day management of the clinical floor and respond to hospital MET/Code Blue/Code Black calls as required on shift. 

• As a General Practitioner in Emergency Medicine, you are expected to exercise a high degree of professional judgement and clinical competence in a multidisciplinary setting

• You will work well within a multidisciplinary team setting and be committed to the supervision and teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate medical staff.

• You may also undertake health promotion and community education activities, along with continuous quality improvement initiatives

• Permanent full time or part time are considered, flexible hours available

Requirements  

• Eligible for specialist registration in Australia in General Practice

• FRACGP or FACRRM highly desirable

• Candidates with equivalent experience from Canada (CCFP) or UK (MRCGP) are welcome to apply

• Relevant experience in a medical position in a community health centre, a primary care unit within a hospital or an emergency department of a general hospital is essential
