The Organisation

The facility is an established Aboriginal community controlled health service serving people living in and around Geraldton, Murchison and the Gascoyne. The health service provides a supportive employment environment that values and encourages initiative and an outcome based focus on improving Aboriginal health. The facility fosters close links with major providers of health services in the Aboriginal communities throughout the Midwest and Murchison regions. They offer three pillars of service delivery: Family Health (child and maternal health); Social, Emotional and Wellbeing and Chronic Disease care. 

The facility has a newly-built training centre that aims to provide opportunities to upskill local Aboriginal health staff to more advanced professional roles as well as training for non-Aboriginal providers in a high functioning community controlled health service to best support Aboriginal people in managing their health.

The Job 

• Join a team of health care professionals as a General Practitioner in delivering high quality clinical care and efficient service to all patients across the region.

• You will provide quality comprehensive primary care, emergency and related health services and programs.

• You will be responsible for ensuring GP Medicare billings are accurate and delivered in a timely manner.

• General Practitioners are expected to provide best practice preventative health education and medicine to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

• You will be well-supported by an established team of GPs and nurses.

• The practice is open 5 days a week, from Monday-Friday at 8:30am to 4:30pm.

Rewards

• Base salary of up to $292,000 p.a.

• Vehicle allowance of $5,200 p.a.

• Accommodation Allowance $14,560 p.a. or fully furnished house provided

• $90 per month for mobile and internet

• 25 days annual leave and 10 days sick leave

Requirements  

• You will be a vocationally registered General Practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA) and hold FRACGP, FACRRM or equivalent.

• Knowledge and experience of Aboriginal culture, health care and related issues is highly desirable
