The Organisation
This hospital is part of the largest country health service in Australia and one of the biggest in the world, providing health services to over half a million people, including over 50,000 Aboriginal people, covering over a vast two and a half million square kilometres area. The service handles almost as many births as the State’s major maternity hospital – and 40% of the State’s emergency presentations. They provide a range of health services including acute inpatient and emergency care, population and public health, mental health, Aboriginal health, aged care and includes an increasing number of services provided by telehealth video-conferencing.
The hospital is a 135-bed facility and is the biggest hospital and health care complex in the region. The hospital incorporates 24-hour emergency care with a wide range of support services including an acute psychiatric unit, coronary care unit, cancer centre, domiciliary care unit, geriatric assessment unit, hospice care unit, maintenance renal dialysis unit, obstetric services, paediatric services and a dental unit.
The Job

Work as an Emergency Medicine Registrar and join a team of dedicated health professionals in providing the best standard clinical care of patients under the supervision of the senior medical team.

You will be responsible for collaborating with other medical, nursing staff and multidisciplinary team members to facilitate patient management.

As an Emergency Medicine Registrar, you will be documenting clinical notes throughout each episode of patient care and be involved in the outpatient clinics as directed.

You will assist in the teaching of medical students and medical colleagues, as directed.

You are expected to participate in after hours and weekend rosters, data collection, clinical audits, clinical risk management and Quality Assurance Program activities.

Registrar Salary Year 1-7, $131,299 to $175,977 p.a. (inclusive of base salary, superannuation and professional development allowance)

Requirements

Current registration as a medical practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner’s Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or eligibility for registration via the competent authority pathway
