This 300 bed hospital provides aged care, mental health, rehabilitation, surgical and medical services. 

The mental health service comprises a large community mental health service and inpatient services - 48 bed acute adult inpatient beds and 16 older adult acute inpatient beds, plus consultant liaison psychiatry services. 

It is an exciting time to join this mental health service, with an expansion of the acute psychiatric services currently underway.

The Job 

• As Consultant Psychiatrist for the Community team, you will provide specialist consumer centred medical care to adult consumers in the catchment area.
• Lead the provision of specialist consumer centred medical care.
• Consult, liaise with and support patients, carers, colleagues, nursing, allied health and support staff to provide coordinated multidisciplinary care.
• Involvement in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. 
• Initiate, implement and participate in audit, quality improvement and research activities. 
• Undertake clinical shifts at the direction of the Head of Service including participation in the on-call roster.

• Remuneration package comprises Year 1-9 $355,172 - $452,806 p.a. (inclusive of base salary, 10% superannuation and applicable allowances).

Requirements  

• Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
• Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) or equivalent qualification.
• Psychiatry Trainees who expect to qualify in the next 12 months, are encouraged to apply.
• Current or eligible for a driver's licence.
