The hospital has a 24/7 Emergency Department and offers an extensive range of healthcare services, including Aboriginal Health, Acute Pain service, Antenatal clinic, Dialysis unit, Nutrition and Dietetics, Oncology, Palliative Care, Paediatrics, Physiotherapy, as well as residential aged care facility.

The Maternity Ward consists of 6 postnatal beds, 4 birthing suites and a special care nursery with 6 cots.  

The Job 

• Obstetrics and Gynaecology Consultants provide general gynaecology services and specialist level care to all patients.

• Patients requiring a higher level of care and complex Urogynaecology/complex Laparoscopic Gynaecology are referred to the nearby tertiary centre.

• Ensure the appropriate documentation of clinical care in patients' medical records and the timely provision of discharge summaries, written specialist opinions and medical reports. 

• You will provide supervision and guidance for junior medical staff and trainee medical officers.

• Contribute to medical teaching/training programs at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

• Participate in outreach programs, relevant multidisciplinary meetings, clinical improvement activities, and integration and maintenance of systems.

• You will participate in an on-call roster with other O&G specialists.

Requirements  

• Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA) 

• Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG) or equivalent
