This Health Service is an innovative and dynamic organisation dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of the community. It serves a population of over 40,000 people and the Emergency Department sees approximately 25,000 patients per year with a rate of admission of 35%. The hospital is a modern campus built approximately 10 years ago with a full perioperative suite including 4 operating theatres (incorporating endoscopy), day surgery and recently installed complete new digital anaesthetic machines and patient monitors. The maternity unit has approximately 500 births per year. Surgical services include general surgery, orthopaedic (elective) surgery, O&G, urology and ophthalmology. A 7 bed combined ICU/HDU/CCU supports complex surgery.
There is a level 4/3 obstetric/neonatal birthing service which is based on a Midwifery Group Practice model with case load midwifery, shared care options with General Practitioners and midwives and specialist-led obstetric clinics including high risk pregnancies.
You will be part of the specialist obstetric service including both obstetrics and gynaecology clinics.
You will participate in teaching activities and the after-hours on-call service.
You will provide excellent clinical care to patients whilst contributing to the development of specialist Obstetric and Gynaecological services.

Interest in a special area of obstetrics will be encouraged as will be expertise in specialised areas of gynaecology.
Expertise in endoscopic gynaecological procedures would be an advantage.

Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG) or equivalent.
Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA).
Maintenance of CPD and good standing as required by AHPRA.
Applicants who have completed Specialist qualifications but are yet to be registered as a Specialist are encouraged to apply.
