This Health Service is an innovative and dynamic organisation dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of the community. It serves a population of over 40,000 people and the Emergency Department sees approximately 25,000 patients per year with a rate of admission of 35%.
The hospital serves a population of over 60,000 people and the Emergency Department sees over 25,000 patients per year. The hospital is a modern campus with surgical services that include day surgery, general surgery, orthopaedic surgery, O&G, and ophthalmology. A 7 bed combined ICU / HDU / CCU supports complex surgery and medicine. Paediatric, renal dialysis, hospital in the home and day only chemotherapy services are also provided.
Work as a Consultant Obstetrics & Gynaecology in providing comprehensive specialist, high quality assessment and management of patients for optimal patient outcomes.
With over 500 births a year the maternity service is a dynamic and important part of the Health Service.
Maternity services are provided to the community through the collaboration of Specialist Obstetricians, Midwives, GP Obstetricians, Child and Family Health, Aboriginal Maternal & Infant Health Service, Perinatal Mental Health and Specialist Paediatric services.
The Health Service is a level 4 role delineated regional maternity service with a level 3 special care nursery.
You will provide and support training to clinicians across multiple disciplines to achieve quality education and safe clinical practice.
Consultants will assist in managing the activities of Obstetrics & Gynaecology services in accordance with agreed service goals and targets and the allocated resources.
Ensure a system of continuous quality improvement systematically evaluates, identifies opportunities for improvement and implements strategies to meet patient needs.
You are expected to help in developing services in close collaboration with other stakeholders and have a commitment to the vision for the future of maternity and gynaecological services.
You will assist in covering the labour ward on a rotational basis along with ante-natal and general gynaecology clinics, elective and emergency theatres.
Salary package of $246,059 - $332,434 p.a.
