The hospital serves a population of 54,500 and operates as an accredited teaching hospital. Clinical services include a 24 hour emergency department, general medicine and surgery (including day surgery), basic orthopaedic, obstetrics and gynaecology, 4 bed high dependency unit and coronary care, anaesthetic clinic, palliative care, medical imaging including on-site CT scanner, pathology services, paediatrics, satellite renal dialysis, chemotherapy, Hospital in the Home and outpatient departments for non-urgent conditions supported by qualified nursing staff. Annually there are over 27,593 presentations, 10,977 admissions and 600 births.
You will be a vital member of the Surgical team and will have the opportunity to treat a varied, challenging caseload.
You will have experience in all aspects of general surgery.
You will provide leadership, supervision and education to junior medical officers.
You will participate in the after-hours on-call roster.
GESA accreditation or approaching is desirable.

Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgery (FRACS) or SIMG assessed by RACS as ‘Substantially Comparable’.
Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA).
Maintenance of CPD and good standing as required by AHPRA.
