The Organisation

You will be joining a state-wide comprehensive diagnostic pathology service based in Brisbane.

The service has locations across Queensland tailored capability to suit each hospital and health service and its clinical needs. The position is located in a 1,023-bed hospital close to the Brisbane central business district.  It is a key provider of health care services that provides care on several specialties including medicine, surgery, orthopaedics, obstetrics, gynaecology, neonatal intensive care, and trauma services.

The laboratory is the largest metropolitan pathology support service in Queensland and one of the largest in Australia.

The Job 

• You will participate in clinical support in the Anatomical Pathology discipline including Histology, Cytology and non-coronial autopsy services. 

• Anatomical Pathologists contribute to multidisciplinary clinical team meetings as required

• You will be working in a large public laboratory with 22 FTE Anatomical Pathologists

• Working across a number of reporting streams, an interest in GI pathology will be highly regarded

• You will participate in the local and remote frozen section service, perform on site and remote MDTs, be able to participate in the after-hours on call roster.

Requirements  

• Eligibility for registration with the Medical Board of Australia  

• Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (FRCPA) or equivalent

• Special interest in GI pathology desirable
