The Organisation
You will be working at a 700-bed hospital, which is one of the most sustainable and technically advanced regional hospitals in Australia. A wide range of general medical, surgical and speciality services are provided, including oncology, cardiology, renal, emergency, women’s and children’s, critical care, specialist clinics and mental health services.
This busy regional hospital sees 44,000 presentations per annum, more than 50,000 attendees through the new state of the art ED, 13,000 operations are performed and the Intensive Care Unit admits over 800 patients annually with 1,800 Medical Emergency Team and Code Blue calls.
The Job
Work in one of the busiest regional ICU units in Australia and New Zealand.
Provide supervised delivery of critical care to patients who require Intensive Care services.
Participate in the assessment and planning of patient management, including new admissions at ICU ward rounds for adult and paediatric patients.
Supervise and oversee the development of the HMO staff.
In this role, you will develop a range of skills and expertise to assess and manage perioperative, critically-ill and clinically deteriorating patients.
This position is accredited for 6 months of core Intensive Care Medicine Training (G6 accreditation) under the College of Intensive Care Medicine (CICM). There is potential for a further 12-24 months of follow-on employment; 6-month rotations through General Medicine, or Palliative Care and a 12-month anaesthesia post for 2021.
One full time position available, to commence February 2021 to August 2021.

Requirements
Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (or equivalent)
Current General registration with AHPRA
Minimum of PGY3
Current membership of the College of Intensive Care Medicine (CICM) training program at time of role commencement
Completed BASIC course by time of commencement
Advanced Life Support 2 (ALS2) certificate
Advanced Paediatric Life Support (APLS) certificate, or equivalent
Paediatric BASIC, or equivalent
