General Medicine Physicians & Paediatricians: Expedited Specialist Pathway now open
The Medical Board of Australia has expanded the expedited specialist pathway to include eligible internationally qualified General Medicine Physicians & Paediatricians.

Specialist International Medical Graduates (SIMGs) with the following qualifications are now eligible to apply through the Expedited Specialist pathway:
Physician – General Medicine:
- Membership of the Royal College of Physicians of the United Kingdom (MRCP(UK)), together with a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT)
Paediatrician:
- Membership of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (MRCPCH), together with a Certificate of Completion Training (CCT)
- Membership of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (MRCPI) in Paediatrics together with a Certificate of Satisfactory Completion of Specialist Training (CSCST)

As the Board continues to refine and expand this fast-track model, the list of eligible specialties is growing rapidly. Anaesthetics, general medicine, general paediatrics, general practice, obstetrics and gynaecology, and psychiatry have been approved as priority specialities and diagnostic radiology is currently under-assessment to join the pathway.
