We know the process can seem daunting, but fear not, because we’ve broken down the process of verifying your qualifications with the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG), a division of Intealth, and creating your Australian Medical Council (AMC) portfolio into a simple, step-by-step guide.<\/p>\n
Step 1: Check your medical school’s eligibility<\/strong><\/p>\n Before diving in, use this handy tool to ensure your medical school is recognized by the AMC:\u00a0<\/span>https:\/\/www.amc.org.au\/check-eligible-medical-school-medical-degrees-and-graduation-years\/<\/a><\/p>\n Step 2: Create your EPIC account<\/strong><\/p>\n The Electronic Portfolio of International Credentials (EPIC) platform is your gateway to credential verification. Head over to\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>https:\/\/epic.ecfmgepic.org\/login<\/a>\u00a0and follow the instructions to set up your account.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Step 3: Confirm your identity with ECFMG<\/strong><\/p>\n During your EPIC account setup, you are required to submit an EPIC Identification Form (EIF) and verify your identity via webcam with an online notary through NotaryCam using your current, unexpired passport. NotaryCam sessions are available 24\/7, so you can make an appointment for any day\/time that is convenient for you, or begin an on-demand session (w\/o appointment) if you choose. Once your identity has been confirmed by ECFMG, you can upload your qualifications required by the AMC for verification.<\/p>\n Step 4: Upload your qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n Upload your primary medical degree and any relevant specialist qualifications to your EPIC account and nominate the AMC to receive an EPIC Report for each credential.<\/p>\n If you are applying for the Standard Pathway (AMC examinations) or Competent Authority Pathway the credential to submit for verification is your Final Medical Diploma (or primary qualification, e.g. MBBS, etc.)<\/p>\n If you are applying for specialist assessment purposes, the credentials to submit for verification are your Final Medical Diploma (or primary qualification, e.g. MBBS, etc.) and your Postgraduate and Specialist qualifications. Please enquire with the respective Australian specialist medical college to find out which qualifications require verification before adding postgraduate qualifications to your EPIC Account or the AMC portfolio.<\/p>\n Step 5: Create your AMC candidate account and establish your AMC portfolio<\/strong><\/p>\n Create your AMC candidate account at\u00a0<\/span>https:\/\/account.amc.org.au\/sign_up<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>and once your AMC candidate account has been confirmed, you can sign into your AMC candidate account and select the \u201cEstablish an AMC portfolio\u201d option.<\/p>\n Once AMC receives notification that your qualifications have been sent for verification through EPIC, the AMC qualifications portal will be updated to be accessed by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) for registration purposes and the respective Australian specialist medical colleges for assessment purposes.<\/p>\n Please note: Fees apply when establishing the initial AMC Portfolio and adding additional qualifications to be reviewed by the AMC.
